Follow him to his brother's house, to the blacksmith Brok. Once you're done crafting armor and shields, exit out of options and on the right, open the chest with some goodies.

Walk away from the Brok and the table and it will trigger the DLC ITEMS to unlock.

Enter the options with TOUCHPAD and there you will find all the DLC ITEMS ready to be equipped.
